It’s been a relaxing afternoon here in Laidlaw Towers. I have been listening to music and sifting through some of my Dartmoor photos.
One of the songs was ‘Stealin’ Time’ by Gerry Rafferty! The lyric I’ll share meant a lot to me. Here are the lyrics…
Stealin’ time, I’ve been stealin’ time
But I don’t feel guilty, cause the time was mine
I kept down low, kept down low
I walked right out, I had to let it go.
Stealin’ time, I’ve been stealin’ time
Forgot about everything and eased my mind
Stealin’ time, I was stealin’ time
But now I know it’s time to cross that line.
I watched the sky, watched the sky
Every day I let the world roll by
Sun and rain, sun and the rain
It felt so good to know that magic again.
Stealin’ time, I’ve been stealin’ time
Forgot about everything and eased my mind
Stealin’ time, I was stealin’ time
But now I know it’s time to cross that line.
The writer talks about taking time out of life to focus on his mental health…’forgot about everything and eased my mind’. The time he stole was his, and it was important for him to do so. He allowed himself space to get his head together.
This really speaks to me, as it is something I do a fair bit..I steal time to absorb nature and my surroundings. it allows me to deflect from any anxieties I may be carrying.
I urge every reader to find time to steal for themselves and their mental health.
I captured this beautiful Dartmoor Pony which made me aware thatch was free and without a worry I the world. It gives me so much peace to focus on that freedom.
Indulge in a little, petty theft and steal yourself some time for you..it’s worth every second!
